We are constantly working on improving the system and adding support for additional platforms and features. The primary request we've received has been for Android support. We're happy to share we've released our Android build out of beta and it's available now!
If you are a parent at a school using Beeline, you can download the Android version of the Beeline for Drivers app here!.
We hope you enjoy how Beeline can speed up the pickup line and with Android support, more drivers will be able to automatically check in and help speed things up!
we are so happy we can finally say "these ARE the droids you are looking for!"
Oh... And, "Beep, Whirr, Click."
A few things to keep in mind about the Android version:
We've tested this on an assortment of different manufacturer's devices, but it's possible we've missed something. As with any new software, we'll only know if anything is broken if you tell us. If you experience any issues, let us know!
Starting with Android version 11, Google introduced changes to the OS that reduce the accuracy of the location features Beeline uses to detect when you are at carpool. Until Google improves this, you may experience delays during automatic check in when using phones with version 11 of the OS installed. Pro tip: We find that keeping the Google maps app running in the background on devices running Android 11 can produce more accurate location results for all apps on your system, not just Beeline.
If you do find your phone is not checking you in when you expect it should, you may want to check in manually, and to verify you have all requested permissions turned on and that you have good cell or wifi coverage near the check in area.
We're updating our system to include Android links in the invite emails that get sent from schools, but they aren't included yet. In the meantime the log on credentials you find in those emails will work in this Android app using the links on this page.
